    "II Governance Forum" review the solutions to the problem of generational succession in family businesses

     


    The succession of generations is to be considered one of the leading challenges facing family businesses, not only in the KSA but worldwide, requires the placement of this phenomenon for more research and study in order to reach effective solutions ensure continued the family business, in its performance, being part of the national economy. This phenomenon will be the highlights of dialogue ' governance in family business 2014 Forum: the challenges of generational continuity ', organized by the Chamber in partnership with the Institute of Directors in the GCC, on Thursday (May 1, 2014) next in Chamber Dammam headquarters, gracing the Minister of Commerce and industry Dr. Tawfig Alrabiah. The Chamber Secretary General Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al wabil said that the Forum, which is held for the second time in a row with a number of local experts and Gulf to the family business of great importance to the local economy (Gulf and world)
    Alwabil said that given the role played by the family in the national economy, and the succession of generations, this role will discuss the succession risks resulting from a succession of generations, and the challenges of continuing the family business from one generation to another, with participants seeking to monitor the most important and highlighted the obstacles facing family businesses in order to achieve a balance between management and ownership, that the Forum will review the mechanisms for the application of the principles of what is termed the ' governance ' to access the Best formula in the relationship between the company as an economic activity and family relationships as a social activity, the review highlighted the lessons and challenges from the experiences of the family companies in this area.

    Alwabil said that participants in the Forum will look at the first axis (transfer family business to the next generation .The challenges and possible solutions, talking about the number of experts and specialists, each representing a family well-known companies, where the Forum during this meeting reviewed the key findings of the survey conducted by a research about the views of the family business in the Middle East (the challenges of balancing data management and family relationships), listen to a detailed review of the experience of one family business leader, while looking at the 2 (hampered the implementation of governance in family business).
